Cozy and fun. Great fresh food! Service and owners are wonderful. Definitely will be visiting there again next time I am in town. Had the Chicken Cordon Blue. Delicious.

Stopped in for breakfast as first choice was packed. So happy we did. Obviously a place that has a loyal clientele. Most everyone was greeted by name. It was a little busy, but we weren’t in any hurry. Had the Raisin Walnut French Toast which was simply the best French Toast I have ever had. Given a choice of 2 or 3 slices, I opted for 2. BIG MISTAKE! I would have relished every bite of that 3rd piece. Nice thick slices of bread made in house. Took a blueberry scone to go.

29 South Cafe is run by the sweetest family, and you can feel it the moment you walk in. It's so comforting to settle in for breakfast somewhere that still carries that "Midwest nice” energy.

We were looking for a fun home town diner to stop and have breakfast on our way to the Dells. We chose this little place and we were pleasantly surprised. It had a nice cozy atmosphere, wonderful staff who was kind, personable and very intent on making this a special visit. The food was great and they had lots of pastries to chose from as well. Everything is homemade and it tastes like it too!! I am so glad we stopped here. I recommend taking time out of your busy day and stopping by 29 south cafe for a great experience.

My regular coffee shop was closed so I stopped here. It was very cute and the food was very good. I love that fresh fruit came with my meal. The service was outstanding! I wish I knew her name, but she was awesome. She was so welcoming and just let me sit and read my book for a while after I was done eating. I would definitely recommend it.

Definitely a must try! So delicious! I've had the lunch, breakfast, baked goods, coffee and everything was delicious. The homemade cream of asparagus soup is definitely a favorite of mine now. I left with s bag full of baked goods to bring to work. I recommend giving this place a try, you will not be disappointed. The owner was friendly and very assertive!

There is nothing like a breakfast at 29 South Cafe to start your day right! The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming—it felt like a big reunion seeing my family there and hearing the owner greet my family by their first names. Actually the owner introduced me to my family I didn't even know. Weird? The owner is absolutely amazing, and that personal touch makes this place feel like home.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 29 South Café on Main Street is an absolute hidden gem in Janesville and honestly a low-key breakfast GOAT spot. If you know, you KNOW. No gatekeeping but also… kinda gatekeeping. 👀☕✨ First thing, it doesn’t get absolutely mobbed like some of the other breakfast joints in town. And that actually makes it elite tier. The vibe is calm, cozy café energy. You can actually sit, breathe, sip coffee, and exist without feeling like you’re speed-running brunch. Major W. 🧘‍♂️🥞 The menu is smaller, but that’s the whole strategy. Quality over chaos. I built my own omelet and it was straight up S-tier breakfast engineering. Flip-over style omelet but somehow NOT burnt or crispy like most places where they basically carbonize the eggs. This thing was fluffy, soft, perfectly balanced between egg and ingredients. Absolute omelet wizardry. 🍳🔥 The potatoes came as potato wedge style with a house-made aioli and I’m not exaggerating when I say this combo goes crazy. Crispy edges, fluffy inside, and the aioli hits like a flavor power-up. Whoever decided on that pairing deserves immediate promotion. 🥔🤌 Every plate came out looking like it had its own little café photoshoot. Everything plated clean and pretty, plus fresh fruit with berries that actually tasted fresh and not like they time-traveled from a freezer. 🍓🫐 My daughter got the lox and bagel, and it was a classic done properly. Fresh lox, fresh cream cheese, balanced, simple, delicious. No weird shortcuts. Just solid execution. 🥯🐟 And the service… immaculate vibes. Our server was UNC and he was radiating peak wholesome grandpa energy. The man was chatting with us, asking about our lives, making small talk that didn’t feel forced. Just that genuine hometown Wisconsin warmth where you feel like you’re hanging out at a neighbor’s kitchen table. Absolute legend. 👑 Also the fresh baked scones and other baked goods sitting there looking dangerous. Like the kind of pastries that whisper “just one more won’t hurt” and sudd
